Queen Elizabeth House

Once the home of preacher and philanthropist Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892) and a maternity home from the late 1940s, Queen Elizabeth House (right next to the pub at 99 Nightingale Lane) now provides 41 sheltered housing apartments for the Wandle Housing Association. The exterior of the original mansion, however, is largely unchanged.
